The tradition of excellence within the Pulse family of companies goes back to 1977 when the first Pulse company was born and grew to phenomenal success, one satisfied customer at a time. True to its roots, PulseIQ maintains a long tradition of top quality and highly reliable products and services.

Leadership

Emilio A. Fernandez | Founder

Emilio A. Fernandez, the founder of PulseIQ, has a 40+ year history of engineering, designing and manufacturing industrial electronic controls equipment. He is a member of the University of Maryland Innovation Hall of Fame and a key sponsor of their E. A. Fernandez IDEA Factory. The companies he has started, including Pulse Electronics which later became part of Wabtec, currently manufacture and sell billions of dollars of industrial electronic control equipment.

Adam Landsman | President

PulseIQ’s President, Adam Landsman, has over 10 years of executive leadership experience operating one of the DC metropolitan area’s oldest and most respected property management firms, as well as hands-on experience managing a large and diverse portfolio of multifamily properties. Adam has served a broad range of clients and industries with the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), Booz Allen Hamilton, and a boutique patent litigation firm.  Adam attended Syracuse University’s School of Information Studies where he graduated summa cum laude, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Management and Technology. He also earned a Master of Science degree from the University College London’s School of Public Policy.

Adam is deeply interested in fostering more environmentally, economically, and socially sustainable communities.  In his free time, Adam enjoys spending time with his family and volunteering as a member of the Maryland Clean Energy Center’s Advisory Council, the Board of Trustees and Building and Grounds Committee of Temple Emanuel, and the Takoma Park Police Chief’s Advisory Board.

Scott Coleman | Chief Technology Officer

PulseIQ’s CTO, Scott Coleman, is an entrepreneur and innovator who brings over twenty-five years experience with Apple Computers and several Silicon Valley startups and smart energy companies, including Gridpoint. He is veteran of many successful startups and product launches in IT, transportation, medicine, and smart energy. Scott has US patents including in digitizing, compression, and transmitting of video signals. Scott is responsible for the technology strategy and vision for the PulseIQ solution. Scott’s hobbies include his family, traveling, and music.

Clive Wright | Principal Engineer

Clive Wright is PulseIQ’s Principal Engineer and has primary responsibility for the design, engineering, and manufacturing of PulseIQ’s hardware. Clive has 30 years of experience as an electronics design engineer and entrepreneur creating robust wireless communications systems and providing engineering management and electronics product development. His career has included work in defense, signals intelligence, space and satellite communications, telecoms, LED lighting, telemetry systems, and transportation. Prior to joining PulseIQ, Clive was Principal Engineer for 19 years for Wabtec, the world’s leading railroad electronics manufacturer. Clive holds five US patents, four of which are for wireless telemetry systems. He is passionate about designing robust, reliable, and problem-free electronics… and also plays a mean guitar.

Swaroop Thavva | HVAC Controls & Energy Management Specialist

Swaroop is PulseIQ’s HVAC Controls and Energy Management Specialist. He is responsible for designing, documenting, and commissioning PulseIQ’s Energy Management System (EMS) while also providing remote and on-site support for clients. Swaroop graduated from the University of Florida (UF) with his M.S in Mechanical Engineering specializing in Thermal Sciences, HVAC, Controls, and Building energy modeling. At UF, he has worked at USDOE Industrial Assessment Center and DiCE Labs. His hobbies include playing badminton, cricket, and watching movies.
